Lighting up the festive feeds of an eclectic, art-loving audience
As part of an ongoing re-brand under the ‘Live The Legend’ Brand Platform the social team at The Dorchester Collection were looking to bring their channels to life in the days leading up to Christmas. Normally the hotel group publishes a paper calendar for the New Year, this year they wanted to remind their audience on social about the vibrant cities that they call home, with a nod to the artistic pedigree of both the Hotels and the locations.
They asked us to conceive of an animation style that would allow us to feature memorable elements from their hotels and host cities – from Tokyo’s newest hotel, Torch Tower, to the original Dorchester itself on London’s Park Lane, and including such disparate styles of building, décor and vibe as LA’s iconic Beverly Hills Hotel and the rolling countryside of Coworth Park.
To achieve this, we remixed the Dorchester Collection’s existing collage style with a ‘flip-book’ style animation, designed to echo the action of a traditional wall calendar. The aim to provide a series of exquisite, animated objects to light up the social feeds of their eclectic and art-loving guests.
